ipw2200, dns propagation,

A few random bits here and there –

  1. The ipw2200 driver for my laptop drives me crazy sometimes. Besides failing for random reasons, it also is at the mercy of the computer’s hardware switch. This is no fault of the wireless driver, however there is a kill switch for the wireless on my computer “FN+F2″ will kill the wireless controller at a hardware level. Unfortunately this can happen in a number of strange ways and can lead to some frustrating times when the driver does diagnose what has happened in an accurate manner. Failing to send signals instead of producing the nice “your radio is currently off and there’s not a damn thing I can do about it”. I know this is my own ignorance really, it’s just frustrating.
  2. I wish the DNS would resolve (random.dragonslife.org) already, I mean it’s been how many days? Come on now, what’s taking so long? Common knowledge is anywhere between 12 to 72 hours, depending on the frequency that your ISP updates its DNS servers. Is there something I’m missing? Does penguinhosting need to do something special, does it batch process the requests at a certain time during the week. Arg! Not that this is a huge deal, I would just like it to be done with.
